Talent planning in Canada is a discipline shaped by ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists) collective agreements, UDA (Union des artistes) francophone-performer rules in Quebec, and the WorkSafeBC, WSIB and CNESST workplace-standby frameworks that govern on-set cast care from holding through wrap.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. The coordinators on our roster come from agency-side backgrounds at Premier Artists, OCS Talent, Noble Caplan Abrams in Toronto and Trinity Vandalay in Montreal, plus production-side AD-department roles, and they handle the daily choreography of moving principals between hotel green rooms at the Fairmont Royal York, Hotel X, Shangri-La Toronto, Four Seasons Toronto and Montreal, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Shangri-La Vancouver and Fairmont Le Reine Elizabeth in Montreal, through transport into the studio base or location, and through wardrobe, makeup and the standby cycle top into set calls.

On the ground, our Canadian talent coordinators run cast-side logistics across the full daily arc — call-time confirmations the night before, hotel-to-set transport planning with the transport department, holding-area management at studio basecamps and remote locations, makeup and wardrobe scheduling alongside the 2nd AD, per-diem and lodging tracking, and the discreet VIP-protection layer that high-profile streaming shoots building out of Pinewood Toronto, Vancouver Film Studios, MELS Montreal and Calgary Film Centre routinely need.

They handle global talent arrivals at YYZ Toronto Pearson, YVR Vancouver and YUL Montreal Trudeau, IRCC work-permit planning under USMCA, CUSMA and Mobilité francophone streams, visa-letter packets for crew arriving from the US, UK, France, Australia and across the EU, and the green-room standby for ACTRA and UDA stunt performers, child performers and animal-action talent on heavily logistical shoot days. We match talent coordinators based on cast-roster scale, language profile (English-only, bilingual EN/FR), prior streaming-tentpole credits and the agency-side relationships each Canadian production needs across Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.
